See Note

Note recognition is an important skill for students of many musical instruments or voice. This game makes note identification practice more fun with simple, engaging play. Custom emojis are in the works. Once those are integrated, See Note will be made available in the App Store.

Until then, or anytime, you can play online. Play now

Behind See Note

See Note began when it was “HackFest,” a week of technology exploration at my place of employment. With the goal of writing a cross-platform game, I again turned to the cocos2d family of products, but this time used cocos2d-x, so I could write once and deploy both to the App Store as well as to the web.

I used Cocos Creator v1.3.3, with Cocos2d-JS v3.6 and designed it to fit 960 x 640.

Artwork

I re-used the crispy graphics Yancey Labat provided for Multiplication Marbles and am excited he’ll also make some custom emojis! For now I’m using Google emojis along with some other artwork available on Wikimedia Commons.
